The Uniform Patrol is the backbone of the East Moline Police Department. It is the largest and most visible division of the Police Department and provides the 1st response to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
Uniform Patrol Goal
The goal of Patrol is to assure a safe community environment and quality of life through both directed and routine patrol. Patrol officers are assigned to specific zones within the city geographically designed to provide quick response to calls for service to any location in the city.
Responsibilities
Patrol officers are highly trained professionals, responsible for a number of duties, which includes traffic enforcement, investigating reports of crime, conducting initial follow-up investigations, investigating traffic accidents and preparing all necessary written reports of these incidents. When possible, those offenders responsible for any criminal acts are arrested and prosecuted through the officer's investigation and knowledge of the facts.
