Another Independence Day has come and gone and from the sounds and sites of the holiday weekend - people were ready to be back, celebrating life, family, and our country.
There are things we learned, things that worked and didn't work. Things we'll do again and things we won't but our favorite thing was all of you that came out and joined us. The crowds at River Bend Park were the biggest that we've seen! A huge thanks for volunteers from UTHS Cheerleaders and Football Players, Alleman National Honor Society, East Moline Aldermen Almblade, Oakes, and Rico and friends and family of staff - without them the carnival games wouldn't have been non-stop busy, cars wouldn't have been parked, donations collected, glow sticks and tshirts sold, and all the various other things that were done to make the two days come together.
A big thanks to Fair Warning for saving us on short notice when our originally scheduled band had to cancel due to injury!
A big thank you to those that also gave money or gifts in kind towards the Fireworks and Parade
Thank you to the East Moline City Staff who volunteered their time Saturday, Sunday and both days!! You ARE appreciated!
